14 years of small-business accounting checklists are sitting in a folder. What could they become?

Posted by Ruiying · Location-independent

I'm a CPA who has spent 14 years closing small-business books. Along the way I built a set of working tools that now mostly sit in a folder: month-end close checklists, a year-end document request list that business owners actually fill in, bank and credit card reconciliation standards, and plain-English notes that explain to owners what their numbers mean. They were made for real clients (a dental practice, an auto repair shop, a brokerage, a property manager with 75+ rentals), not as a product, so they are practical rather than pretty. I'd like to turn them into something more people can use: a template pack, a short course for new bookkeepers, an add-on for a bookkeeping app, or content for a newsletter or channel that reaches small-business owners. I bring the accounting substance and real examples. I'm looking for someone who is good at design, course building, software, or already has an audience of owners.

Why I’m posting this

These checklists save my clients hours every month. I'd rather they help many owners than sit in a folder.
